Seven Things You Can Do Right Now

Here are seven things you can do immediately to support March Fourth

  • How: Email marketing@wemarchfourth.org

Why: Collective, large gatherings focusing on a specific issue are a strong way to show our elected officials what matters. Let’s show America how many of us are united on this issue!

  • How: Use these click-to-call links for your Senators and Representatives, with easy to follow scripts. Each call, once connected, takes less than one minute to complete! Call every day!

Why: If we’ve learned anything over the past nine months, it's that our elected officials keep track of the issues and viewpoints shared from their constituents. Every time you call, a staffer is marking down the issue and position, and shares consolidated metrics with the senator or representative. Every call helps our voices supporting an Assault Weapons Ban stand up against the gun lobby and the gun industry!

Senator Schumer is the Senate Majority Leader and he has the ability to call anything to a vote at any time. We call him daily to ensure he knows America wants him to call S.25 (the Assault Weapons Ban bill) to the floor for a vote. We have the right to know where our elected officials stand on this issue.

  • Follow our How To guide here

  • How: Use your voice and sign a petition, and circulate them broadly within your network.

Why: We bring these petitions to meetings with members of Congress. They are specifically interested in hearing from their constituents so a petition is one tactic to bring the voice of many to their attention. Some members have even requested petition data for their state / district.

  • How: Make a donation, share our donation page, send an email to family and friends to ask for their support, and request donations from your work or your local businesses using our template!

Why: The gun lobby spends over $5M a year on just lobbying to help prevent gun safety laws from being passed. We need to compete with that and be louder. Consistent pressure in lobbying is necessary to influence Congressional action. Donations fund March Fourth’s efforts to get a federal ban on assault weapons passed.

Please send any questions to: fundraising@wemarchfourth.org.

  • How: It’s easier than you think! Constituents can request meetings with their members of Congress at any time in their local offices. Click here for a step-by-step guide!

Why: Your elected officials work for you, and officials are constantly hearing from their constituents on issues they think matter. Make your voice heard!

  • How: We are calling on corporate America to take a stand, and are collecting signatures from CEOs and companies across America. Please share our request with leaders in your network!

Why: The constant distraction and trauma caused by mass shootings takes a toll on employees’ physical and mental health, oftentimes at the expense of their work. This uniquely American epidemic must be addressed, but will take public support from organizations and leaders. With businesses as one of the most trusted institutions today, it's critical to show Congress that corporate America supports an assault weapon ban.
